Region in the prefix
A key such as fly_pk_us_production names its region, and the SDKs send it to that region’s API.
Accounts and billing are run from a central control plane. Everything about your visitors lives in a separate regional data plane, chosen when your organisation is created and fixed from then on.
The control plane holds what runs your account: users, organisations, memberships, invitations and billing. It knows which region your data lives in, and nothing about your visitors.
Each region is a separate deployment and security boundary. The dashboard gets a two-minute pass from the control plane and then reads visitor data directly from your region, so it never passes through the control plane on the way.
The split, as it is built.
| Data | Plane | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Users, organisations and memberships | Control | Your account and your team |
| Billing and credit | Control | Payments, balances and top-ups |
| SDK keys and proxy credentials | Regional | Stored hashed |
| Visitor IDs and identifications | Regional | Events and their archive |
| Risk weights | Regional | Your scoring policy |
| Webhook endpoints and deliveries | Regional | Signing secrets encrypted at rest |
Nothing to configure per request, and nothing that can wander into another region.

A first-party proxy forwards only to the region in its own credential. It cannot be pointed at an arbitrary server.
A key presented to a different region’s deployment is refused, and so is a dashboard pass issued for another region.
The United States region is available today. The European Union region is shown as coming soon and cannot be selected yet.
No. The region is fixed when the organisation owner chooses it, because it is the boundary your visitors’ data lives inside.
It supports your residency requirements, but it is not a legal determination on its own. Your notices, agreements and any transfer mechanisms still need review by your privacy and legal teams.
