Regional data planes

Your visitors’ data. In one region.

Accounts and billing are run from a central control plane. Everything about your visitors lives in a separate regional data plane, chosen when your organisation is created and fixed from then on.

  • United StatesAvailable now.
  • European UnionComing soon.
  • Fixed at creationThe region cannot change.
  • In every keyThe prefix names the region.

Accounts in one place. Visitors in another.

The control plane holds what runs your account: users, organisations, memberships, invitations and billing. It knows which region your data lives in, and nothing about your visitors.

Each region is a separate deployment and security boundary. The dashboard gets a two-minute pass from the control plane and then reads visitor data directly from your region, so it never passes through the control plane on the way.

  • Chosen once, by the organisation owner
  • Keys, SDKs and proxies stay inside that region
  • The console reads visitor data straight from the region

The key knows where to go.

Nothing to configure per request, and nothing that can wander into another region.

Region in the prefix

A key such as fly_pk_us_production names its region, and the SDKs send it to that region’s API.

Proxies stay regional

A first-party proxy forwards only to the region in its own credential. It cannot be pointed at an arbitrary server.

Refused elsewhere

A key presented to a different region’s deployment is refused, and so is a dashboard pass issued for another region.

About data residency.

What the regional split guarantees, and what it does not.

Talk to the team
Which regions are available?

The United States region is available today. The European Union region is shown as coming soon and cannot be selected yet.

Can we move our organisation to another region later?

No. The region is fixed when the organisation owner chooses it, because it is the boundary your visitors’ data lives inside.

Does regional hosting make our deployment compliant?

It supports your residency requirements, but it is not a legal determination on its own. Your notices, agreements and any transfer mechanisms still need review by your privacy and legal teams.
